House Díedne (sometimes styled Diedne) were a group of druids; they were the first true House, having been a single group, while the descendants of the Cult of Mercury were a series of individuals who were just starting their own Houses when the Order was founded. Diedne was a key founder, as it was she who taught Bonisagus ways for magi to cast small fast spells, rather than the Cult's previous method requiring large numbers of magi to perform extended rituals.

In 1012, House Diedne was renounced for diabolism and human sacrifice by the Quaesitores and its members were ruthlessly hunted down and destroyed in the Schism War, principally by members of Flambeau and Tremere, but with others as well. While several Houses (including Bonisagus) strove for neutrality, none sided with the Diedne. The House was destroyed, but its leaders were never found, and may have escaped capture and execution. They, and their lineage, are still subject to a sentence of death by the Order. It is rumored that they escaped to Fairyland, and will return one day in the future.
