The Tree of Woe is a treatise written by an unknown author in the early to middle part of the 11th century. The anonymous work began appearing shortly after the Schism War, and many believe the author to be of House Diedne or at least sympathetic to that cause, although the text itself is unattributed and contains no explicit references to such. As usual, much depends on one's own interpretation... and possibly that of visiting Quaesitores.
